DSC#180

In the Meadow, in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog is perfect for the water coloring artist in you!  Truly, anyone can make beautiful scenes with this easy to use stamp set!

This week Color My World Challenge is perfect for a nature scene with the In the Meadow Stamp Set.  These nature colors are inspirational and a beautiful way to enjoy Spring!

I would like to show you some easy techniques for water coloring and embossing to highlight the images that you most want to have focus.
So, let's get the fun started with the supplies that you will need.

Cut two 5 3/4 x 4 1/2 watercolor paper,  two Early Espresso Cardstock 5 x 6 1/4, and two Marina Mist Cardstock 4 3/4 x 6. Cut strips of English Garden Designer Paper (retiring) for sentiment tags.  Inks used are Early Espresso, Always Artichoke, Marina Mist, Island Indigo, and Rose Red.  VersaMark and Clear Embossing Powder is used for the stamped images.

Stamp the images with VersaMark Ink onto the watercolor paper.  Use the Heat Tool with the Clear Embossing Powder to create the images.

Repeat on second watercolor paper without stamping the deers for the inside.

Rip masking tape lengthwise and place as border (if you are using standard masking tape don't forget to first pick up some lint on your pants.  Otherwise, it is too sticky and can rip your paper).

Now you are ready for the fun!  Spray your paper with water using the Stampin' Spritzer.  Start at the top with adding Marina Mist Ink with the Aqua Painter.  Watch how the ink reacts with the water!  Remember you can start out light and add to deepen the color.  Watercoloring is all about layers!  Darken more at the top for depth, lighter towards the center.  Repeat with Early Espresso starting at the the bottom and working your way toward the middle.  The darker the color the more the embossed images will 'pop' out!

Use Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set with Early Espresso Ink for the background grasses along the bottom.

Add Artichoke Green on the trees and Rose Red on the flowers with q-tips.

Repeat process for inside of card.

Add matted sentiment tags on both outside and inside of card.  Create mats by ripping along edges of English Garden Designer Paper (retiring).

Adhere sentiment tags and mat with selected cardstock.

Enjoy any time of season with this beautiful nature card!
