Garden in Bloom: Thursday Challenge DSC#176

Stampin' Up! Garden in Bloom for Someone Special!

DSC#176

I love the element of the vases in this challenge!  It gave me so many options of flower stamp sets to use.  I chose the Garden in Bloom Stamp Set, because I love any opportunity to create watercolor images!  The delicate images of this stamp set I felt also matched perfectly to the English Garden Designer Paper and the Cherry on Top Designer Paper!

I hope you enjoy how easy it is to create this sweet card!

So, let's get started with the supplies you will need.  I wanted to show you the two or three stage possibilities in this stamp set.   This allows for beautiful opportunities to replicate the look of water coloring!  So, easy!

Cut 2 Marina Mist Cardstock into 5 x 6 1/4 and two 3 x 3, Whisper White Watercolor Paper 4 3/4 x 6 and 3 x 5, Watermelon Wonder Cardstock 3 1/4 x 5 1/4, English Garden Designer Series (petite flowers) 4 3/4 x 4 1/4 and 2 x 4 1/4.

Emboss all pieces of the Marina Mist Cardstock with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine.

The 3 x 3 pieces will be die cut using the Ovals Collection Framelits through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine.

Sketch around the placement of the large oval and repeat for the inside of the card with the small oval.

Stamp the stems into both of the sketched ovals with Garden Green Ink.  Then stamp the flowers with Rose Red and Cajon Craze Ink.  Add Night of Navy with Stampin' Write Markers to the inside of the flowers

Cut off the bottom of both ovals and sponge the edges with Marina Mist Ink.  Mat Designer papers to the front and inside of card and add ribbon.

Mat Designer papers to front and inside of card. Add ribbon to front.

Create sentiment tags with Lots of Lables Framelits stamp and mat with Watermelon Wonder Cardstock.

Completed inside of card!

Send to someone special, and enjoy!

  1. What a fun, unexpected take on the sketch to get away from the monochromatic blue and the nautical theme! I love this...and it could be used for so many occasions!
